The IFOAM Organic World Congress is organized every 3 years in a different country.

The aim of the congress and surrounding activities (pre-conference, IFOAM General Assembly, side-events and organic exhibition) is to share experiences, innovations, knowledge about the organic world with a special attention on the organizing country.

The Congress provides an extraordinary momentum and inspiration for all stakeholders from around the world. It is the leading event for the development of the organic sector worldwide.

In 2014, the Organic World Congress took place from 13 to 15 October, in Istanbul. The Congress had 3 plenary and 8 breakout sessions with more than 250 presentations by leading individuals in the organic sector, providing latest insights. The varied levels of the conference, included developing values and principles for concerted action, developing future action points for Organic agriculture, experience sharing, solution-building and exploring future collaboration.

Nearly a total of 1000 participants (scientists, practitioners, trainers, farmers, traders, etc.) attended the Congress.

TACSO P2P supported the participation of 33 participants from Western Balkans and Turkey in this event.
