“Transformations of Local Food Processes in EU Accession: Opportunities & Challenges” Conference  which was organized within the context of People to People Program (P2P) on 19-20 November 2014 in İstanbul was designed in collaboration with EU at regional level supported Environmentally Sustainable Socio-Economic Development of Rural Areas (ESSEDRA) Project’s partners from Turkey, MDD and partner from Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Slou Fud Bitola.

The Conference brought together around 35 representatives from CSOs and stakeholders from Turkey and Macedonia to share experiences on local food production in EU accession process.

The aim of this two-day Conference was to raise awareness on EU Policy and national reform processes on local and artisan food production in the context of environmental and biodiversity issues, to expand the discussion to a larger CSO community and enable networking and partnership building among them.

The Conference enabled effective exchange of ideas and experiences among participants via workshops while also enabling sharing developments from international events related to the local food production.
