Regional office

The Regional Office (RO) consists of seven staff members who are: the Team Leader, P2P Programme Manager, P2P Programme Assistant, Team Leader Assistant/Administration and Financial Officer, Communication Expert, IT/Web Manager, and Communication Officer.

Ms. Perović is an acknowledged consultant in civil society development and EU integration with 16 years of professional experience. Her key strengths reside in identification, design, management and implementation of capacity building initiatives for stakeholders ranging from civil society organisations (CSOs), governmental bodies, as well as the private sector. She has a background in financial management and is fluent in English and the local languages (Croatian/Bosnian/Serbian/Montenegrin). With extensive knowledge of the civil society environment and the reform process in the Western Balkans, Ms. Perović has consistently worked on capacity building programmes, developing and delivering trainings, including needs assessments and Training of Trainers (ToTs), for which she has specific experience in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and Albania. Ms. Perović contributed to the early development of the civil society in BiH by providing support to CSOs in the registration process, setting-up of organisational management systems, fundraising support, supervising and delivering trainings for local CSOs, locating new/old women's associations, as well as developing CSOs from the grassroots level. Her fundamental expertise consists in her work as a Senior CSO Capacity Building/European Union (EU) Expert within TACSO 1. Her core responsibilities during this engagement included developing capacities of CSOs in the Western Balkans and Turkey with a focus on the EU integration process. This expertise is heightened by her in-depth knowledge of the EU procedures and instruments, Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) funds and programming cycles as well as her understanding of the sector needs, which are central in transferring the required knowledge to the CSOs. Ms. Perović’s experience is especially beneficial to TACSO’s second phase based on her previous work with stakeholders at various levels, including ministerial, local government, donor agencies and private sector representatives.

Ms. Ozgunes Oktem holds a Bachelor degree in the field of Science in International Politics (specialisation in International Relations, Law and Organisation). Furthermore, she received additional education in the fields of Peace Building and Empowerment at the Transcend Peace University and in Documentary and Video Production in Denmark. Ms. Ozgunes has over 12 years of experience in programme management, facilitation, coaching and training in/for NGOs in conflict zones and developing countries. She has been working for TACSO since 2009 as Resident and Deputy Resident Advisor in Turkey. From 2006 to 2009, as Risk Management Consultant for BTC Co. Neslihan worked as a trainer and coach in multi-stakeholder processes for environmental CSOs working in Eastern Turkey. From 2004 to 2006, she worked for “War Child Holland” in Sudan in the position of Project Coordinator, Regional Peace-building and Media. In the capacity as Conflict Resolution Trainer from 2001 to 2004 she worked for “Crossing borders” in Turkey and Denmark where she gained professional experience in conflict resolution/dialogue workshops covering media and conflict, intercultural dialogue, conflict analysis and communication skills. In 2003, she was the International Peace-building Representative in Guatemala at the project Play for Peace- Jugar por la Paz, where she developed programme outreach and network within the country through relations with like-minded NGOs and the media. Ms. Ozgunes gained her programme leader and project manager experience by working on project development, evaluation and monitoring for programmes funded by the EU, European Governments, US Foundations and the World Bank in Turkey, Denmark, Belgium, Cyprus, Sri Lanka, the U.S.A., and Guatemala.

Ms. Tunovic has over 16 years of experience in communications, public relations and journalism especially in the areas of crisis communication, public relations strategies, event organisation, media relations training and web management. She has accumulated her vast experience through her work with international organisations located in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which include, the OSCE, the International Commission on Missing Persons for Former Yugoslavia, the High Judicial Councils of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Office of the High Representative(OHR). Ms. Tunovic has also worked as a Public Relations Consultant for the East West Management Institute, USAID funded Justice Sector Development Project I and II, in which she developed communication strategies for the majority of courts and prosecutors offices in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In addition, Ms. Tunovic as has commercial marketing experience which she gained while working as the Marketing Director of Media Intelligence Agency and as the Deputy Director of Marketing Sector for Mercator BH d.o.o. As well as writing numberous press releases, fact sheets and articles for daily newspapers; her publications include: „Media guide for Model Courts (2006)“ and „Media relations guide for Model Prosecutors Offices (2010)“. Ms. Tunovic is a member of the Managing Board of the Public Relations Association of BiH (PRIBA).


From 2009 to 2013, Ms. Fazlić was the communication assistant for the Technical Assistance for Civil Society Organisations (TACSO) Project. She will continue in this role as the Communication Officer during TACSO 2. She has held internships with the International Broadcasting Bureau and with the Press and Public Information Unit of the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina. She has also been a public relations volunteer for organisations including, Žene za Žene International, The Sunflower Cottage, Valley Program for the Aging Services, Court Days Festival, Caregivers Community Network and the Salvation Army. Ms. Fazlić graduated from James Madison University, in Harrisonburg, Virginia, USA, with a Bachelors Degree in Communication Studies, concentration public relations with minors in French and Technical and Scientific Communication. In 2014, she completed her master studies and has a Master of Science in Economics of Transition and European Integration from the Sarajevo School of Science and Technology partnered with the University of Buckingham, Buckingham, England.

With a background in economics and marketing, Ms. Marijana Aksin-Macak has accumulated over 20 years of extensive experience working in various sectors and organisations. She has over 19 years of experience in finances, administration, logistics and human resources through her work with such international organisations as : EUPM, the OSCE, Oxfam and Medicines sans Frontiers. Ms. Aksin-Macak also has 6.5 years of experience working as an interpreter for the following media and international organisations: The New York Times, Irex ProMedia, the WHO, UMCOR and the World Championships in 1989 (Rhythmic Gymnastics & Junior Figure Skating). She has worked directly with NGOs for almost three years through the organisations BHWI/ Malteser, Sans Limites and Prosperity Humanity International. Throughout her work, Ms. Aksin-Macak has worked with vulnerable groups including persons with disabilities, displaced persons and orphans as well as projects dealing with women empowerment. Ms. Aksin-Macak was the Team Leader Assistant/AFA for the TACSO Project from 2010 to 2013 and she will continue as the Team Leader Assistant/Administrative and Financial Officer during TACSO 2. In general, her duties, among others, comprise: project planning, in-office management functions; organising regional events, contacting Headquarters on administration and finance issues and in specific on incidentals administration; financial project accounting and follow-up; budget monitoring and forecasting; monthly reporting and liquidity forecasts.
